The Canon printer is very diverse in its printing abilities and can use photo card stock, glossy photo paper, bubble jet paper, and high-resolution paper and Canon specialty papers. It also prints on envelopes and can print on transparencies and t-shirt transfer paper. It is designed to be an all purpose machine, which can go with you wherever you need to use it. The cartridges are standard ink jet types, which are easily replaced when empty. The unit comes with a black ink and color ink cartridge and the power adapter. You will need to purchase a separate USB printer cable to use with this machine. A new model of this type may retail for over $400, but you can find some used machines available for under $150.
